Breathedge System Requirements - Can I Run It? - PCGameBenchmark

If you’ve been on a hunt for survival games, Breathedge is the kind of survival game that should give a try.  Although we didn’t play the game to the end, here is what our experience says it all about. Breathedge is simple yet but challenging that traps you in deep space with your immortal chicken.

Rather than your regular survival game, Breathedge takes you in a 3-dimensional cosmic setting where you craft tools, navigating the vehicle, control the space station, and unravel the truth behind your spaceship crash. That’s the environment that the whole story revolves around, and the excitement in these survival games is tied with a discovery. However, Breathedge is a game that seems to lack the necessary elements of the genre.

Goofy jokes, weird and clumsy actions tied with comedy. The game makes a recurrent theme to the genre like references, quest chest, and unwanted extended time. The game turned out quite grainy and too crammed with humor rather than exact gameplay.

However, the game movement makes the gameplay fun, bouncing off things and peeking behind the asteroids in the Micro G environment.  What makes the game challenging is the layout making the survival area. That’s something that appears very real and deliberately designed. The place is where you repeatedly come, which makes it challenging as everything action in the game is tied to the limited air supply.

You gotta be careful with your inventory space, pick-up materials from debris, and get back to the air source. The limited-time span makes it challenging; the oxygen filling process takes approximately 2 minutes which is terribly tedious. Not just the oxygen refill time, but crafting time is also a tiring element until it is finished.

Unlike other survival games, waiting time in Breathedge is typically longer, and this whole plot is very recurrent that doesn’t advance the plot. The game lacks many critical elements of a survival action game like building a base, terrain deformation.

When the tools broke down in the middle, you’re going to fill oxygen; you’ll definitely find it frustrating. Although you keep another copy, having a repair system instead of getting a whole new tool and providing upgrades is necessary for survival games.

Why does this an unwanted exaggeration? That’s something I believe is very important for players that keep the excitement and interest. But, Breathedge clearly seems to lack the very aspect in action, survival genre.

Breathedge is available now in Steam and the Epic Games Store.
