1) SPONSOR: “Social Media Giveaway 2 Day Passes to Rose City Comic Con” (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by SciFi Monkeys, 12460 14th Ave S, Seattle WA 98168 (“Sponsor”).
2) SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD: The Sweepstakes starts at 10:01 AM PST September 6th, 2019 and ends at 11:59 PM PST September 8th, 2019 (the “Sweepstakes Period”). All entries after September 8th, 2019 will not be eligible. A random drawing of One (1) winner will be selected by software provided by ContestHopper from all entries received and verified by Promoter and or its agents. Winner will be contacted via social media private message or by the email address provided on the entry form on or around July 9, 2013, assuming compliance with all rules is met.
3) ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open to everyone the age of eighteen (18) or over. Entrants must both be legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico and US territories and possessions). Void where prohibited by law. Employees and agents of Michael Ellery Media and its parent company, affiliates, and/or subsidiaries (collectively, the “Promotion Entities”) are ineligible to participate.
4) HOW TO ENTER: No purchase, entry fee, payment, or proof-of-purchase necessary to participate. During the Sweepstakes Period, participants may obtain an entry by responding appropriately to the corresponding social media page in which they are entering.
5) WINNER SELECTION / PRIZE NOTIFICATION: There will be one (1) winner per social media outlet (Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter). Winner will be chosen at random by software provided by ContestHopper from all entries received and verified by Promoter and or its agents, whose decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Potential winners are subject to eligibility verification and compliance with these Official Rules. To claim prize, potential winners must execute and return all forms to the administrator within fourteen (24) hours of materials received from sweepstakes Promoter. Failure to comply with this condition, or if prize notification is returned as undeliverable, will result in disqualification, forfeiture of prize, and selection of an alternate winner. All prizes will be awarded, provided a sufficient number of entries are received. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received.
6) PRIZES: There will be one (1) winner per social media outlet (Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter). The winner will receive instructions along with codes on how to redeem two day passes for Rose City Comic Con 2019.
Prizes are subject to availability. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if part or all of the advertised Grand Prize become unavailable. Prizes are transferable (yes you can give games to friends) and no cash redemptions allowed. By accepting a Grand Prize, the winner acknowledges compliance with these Official Rules. Taxes on prizes are the responsibility of the winner.
7) CONDUCT: By entering, Entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, Entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Washington without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, and Entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state, and local courts located in King County, Washington. By entering this Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor that shall be final and binding in all respects. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual: (a) acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be in violation of these Official Rules; or (b) acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be unsportsmanlike, disruptive, and/or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A USER OR ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND COSTS (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
8) VERIFICATION OF WINNER: Potential winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, a liability/publicity release, and other documents (“Prize Claim Documents”) as may be required or permitted by law. If any potential winner fails or refuses to sign and return all Prize Claim Documents within fourteen (14) days of prize notifications sent, the winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Sponsor is not responsible for any change in address, phone number, or e-mail address of Entrants /winners. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of his/her name, photo and/or likeness for advertising or promotional purposes, without additional compensation.
9) GENERAL: Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, with venue in King County, Washington, and all claims must be resolved in the state or federal courts of King County, Washington. By entering this Sweepstakes, participants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Sweepstakes Rules and the decisions of the sponsor, which are final in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Promotion Entities also reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. By participating in the Sweepstakes, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judging organization and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules. Winners and participants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless the Promotion Entities, and the officers, employees, and agents of each, from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse, use, loss, or misdirection of any prize, or participation in this Sweepstakes, and hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out of pocket expenses; all causes of action arising out of or connected with this promotion, or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, or postage due mail/requests. If Entrant is selected as a winner, its information may also be included in a publicly available winner list.
