Google stadia have disappointed the gaming community by failing to deliver on promised features. Reportedly, the cloud gaming technology built the hype of delivering with unprecedented experience to the gamer. However, Google didn’t deliver to disrupt the gaming industry. Following the lackluster reveal of Stadia, the disappointment resulted in Google Stadia losing its target of controller sales and active users.

One of the primary reasons for stadia’s launch was its business model. Spending $60 on individuals to have it on the cloud instead of your PC turned out a little stretched. Paying for a single game instead of an all-you-can-play feature like an Xbox game pass didn’t seem appealing to players.

Google Stadia spent tens of millions of dollars to bring some of the best publishes on its platform. Publishers like Ubisoft and Take Two Interactive Software Inc. couldn’t make way for google Stadia. According to reports, the people involved in the deal revealed that the hefty amount google was willing to spend was shocking for developers. Bringing games like Red Dead Redemption 2 on the platforms sure didn’t come as cheap. Venturing in a market that is already dominated by consoles was surely challenging for google.

Since Google planned to enter a new market, it has to change its hiring standards for bringing in game developers. The hiring period at google takes more than 6 and sometimes 9 months. According to sources, google’s created roadblocks resulted in the closure of Stadia’s internal studio. The closure resulted in 150 employees impacted who had been set for building AAA games.

Some sources disclosed that Google’s stance was more deflected than developing games but selling Stadia technology. Stadia wanted developers to focus on cloud computing technologies like state share rather than the freedom to bring creativity and bolster the cloud gaming experience. The Stadia launched in Nov 2019 the allowed access via a special controller and chrome cast kit for $130.
