Curse of the Dead Gods for Nintendo Switch - Nintendo Game Details

Games like “Hades” and “Ancient Abyss” always follow a story. But Curse of the Dead Gods isn’t much of your old roguelike game. However, the game lacks storytelling, unlike the rest in the hack and slash genre. But, the game totally breaks the roguelike games tradition.

The direct approach that throws the player into breaking the codex and learn about the legend is more like a strategically tactful move from the developers. Unlike existing top downs, “Darkest Dungeon” and “Hades,” “Curse of the Dead Gods” has some convenient change in the game.

What’s New in Curse of the Dead Gods?

Unlike the other tabletop roguelike, “Curse of the Dead God” offers you an entirely different gaming experience. Rather than achieving the target and conquering the temple at once, the levels are divided. However, there are also similarities with other game mechanics.

That includes having tactful game progress, upgrading weapons, and dying while trying to conquer the mission. Here is the catch, you gotta start from scratch after defeat, but the next attempt is made much easier. You’ll start with permanent upgrades that’ll help you climb faster than the first run.

Curse of the Dead Gods Break the Roguelike Games Tradition

The game levels are also divided into different temples, and each temple has 9 levels. Moreover, every level has its own brutal boss, underhanded traps. As you climb every level, you fight the boss in the end. The game progresses in the same way for all 3 levels. So, this is something that refreshes the true roguelike experience.

Instead of going from the get-go and keep fighting and losing again and again. The procedural twist of experience makes it a small series of victories. “Curse of the Dead Gods” is full of options and freedom to choose. Defeating the boss rewards you with crystal skulls, jade rings, and currencies to get permanent upgrades and also let you use powerful buffs like extra damage upon 3 consecutive kills. Players can improve weapons and buy new ones with jade rings and crystal skulls.

Curse of the Dead Gods is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with a 10% launch discount.
