FORTNITE finally settles the class action lawsuit, and it’ll soon be sending 1000V-Bucks to the player who had purchased loot boxes in “Save the World” and “Rocket League.” FORTNITE is famous worldwide for its direct and distinctive competitive gaming design.
FORTNITE has issued an official via Twitter account on the 23rd of Feb. Players who had bought random item loot Llama boxes from STW will be receiving 1000V-Bucks in a couple of days. Reportedly, the lawsuit alleged that Epic Games violated consumer protection law and also misrepresented the facts.
Why was Epic Games Sued?
The lawsuit reported a violation of the state consumer rights act and misrepresented items value in FORTNITE and Rocket League. The violation consumer protection law violation halted exercising contractual disaffirmation right.
Epic Games were alleged in the lawsuit for Wrongdoing, Liability, and Damage which it clearly denied. However, Plaintiff and Epic games reached a settlement of the lawsuit to avoid expenses and consequences associated with the litigation process.
The settlement statement further clarifies, “All the claim against Epic games and its affiliated entities, is not an admission of Wrongdoing by Epic games and doesn’t imply that there has been or would be any finding that supports the claim of violating state law.
Who Will be Receiving Settlement Claims?
Players with Rocket League Account and Save the World account will soon be receiving compensation in their respective accounts. Reported, 1000 V-Bucks will be transferred to those who acquired random item Llama Loot boxes. At the same time, Rocket League accounts will be receiving 1000 credits for credit loot boxes. Also, the settlements will be made in $26.5m in cash and other forms, such as credits and V-Bucks.
