Time-traveling in Avengers Endgame became a confusing subject with the existence of multiple timelines. Lately, Anthony and Joe Russo briefed the time-traveling dilemma of Endgame and how Captain America travels into branched reality.

While appearing in LightsCameraBarstool, the Russo brothers revealed how Captain American lived his life with Agent Carter, otherwise known as Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter. How the Russo brothers defined time travel made the MCU’s future more twisted.

While being the guest at LCB, Joe Russo talked about Captain America’s return as an old Citizen. Whether we had discussed it publicly or not, but we had this conversation about Caps return, said Joe. Captain America’s return had to have happened to come back and pass on his shield to Sam Wilson, AKA The Falcon. Further, they added that the logic was already defined that Captain America would have to return from branch reality.

The concept of branch reality started when the Avenger takes the time jump to collect infinity stones. Moving each stone from its timeline creates another alternate reality, called branch reality.

Talking about Captain America’s definitive end in the MCU. Steve Rogers travels back to place the stones in their timelines as promised by Hulk or Dr. Banner. The subsequent scenes lead to old Captain America returned to give his shield to his crime-fighting partner.

Although the time-traveling rules were different in Endgame, where Steve Rogers is living in the present. Following the comics and Disney Plus original series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Sam Wilson, AKA Anthony Mackie, is seen wielding Captain America’s shield.
