The gruesome savage fatal fight is coming to the big screen in April. WB unveils first pictures of the fierce fighters of the game inspired movie “Mortal Kombat”. You’ll be seeing some ferocious blood-splattering action scenes by skillfully trained fighters. The movie will be available for streaming on HBO Max for 31 days while it is also screened in theatres.

The 1995 adaptation of the game received much acclaim from audiences. Later, in 1997, Mortal Kombat II didn’t garner as much attention from audiences. However, this time, the images have fans eager to see their favorite characters getting into the feud in the first look.

What’s New?

Mortal Kombat gained popularity following the fatal finishing blow. The movie is directed by Simon McQuoid and James Wan. The student coordinator Kyle Gardiner was told to “craft unparalleled action sequences”, said McQuoid. This is going to be an R-rated movie that will include fatalities for the first time.

This lethal fighting video game-inspired movie is going to be a full-on Blood Bucket! But, blood means more than making the opponent bleed, said McQuoid. “Your favorite characters will be seen training for high stake tournament which will be followed by a series of fights.”

Despite the release calendar rescheduling, the release is expected on the 16th of April 2021. The openings scene kicks off in ancient feudal Japan where the Hanzo clan and Bi-Han feud begins. The movie will be a mix of family drama which will further develop into lethal hand-to-hand combat. We’ll also be seeing a new character, Cole Young.

The broke MMA fighter who believes himself is washed up with no ambitions. Played by Lewis Tan, the martial arts skilled actor will be performing the stunts himself despite the risks tied up with the actions. The natural birthmark of “Mortal Kombat” on Cole’s chest will lead to the destination when he’ll be meeting Sonya Blade. Sonya Blade will then take Cole to the temple of an Elder God, Raiden.
