With a long history, Star Wars is looking to the future. After a successful run of movies, the Star Wars universe is only getting bigger and bigger. Below, you can read more about what’s in store for the future of the Star Wars universe.

More Movies

The Stars Wars movie world will be expanding for the foreseeable future. Coming in December of 2019 will be Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. This conclusion to the new trilogy will continue Rey’s journey, along with the stories of Kylo Ren, Leia, Finn, and Poe. After that, the showrunners of “Games of Thrones” have been tasked with creating their own Star Wars movie; however, details about what or who their movie will focus on are scarce. Further out, there are plans for a new trilogy of Star Wars, but no details have been announced yet.

More Attractions

The world of Star Wars is expanding into the real world. Disneyland in California has been undergoing a park development project that will include the brand-new Galaxy’s Edge, a themed “Star Wars” destination. Disneyland’s new land opens at the end of May, with a large expected turnout, while a similar Star Wars-themed destination will open at Walt Disney World in Orlando sometime in August. Galaxy’s Edge will feature two new rides, including a Millennium Falcon ride. The area will also feature the famous Cantina from the movies plus themed shops, restaurants, and much more.

More Television Shows

The world of Star Wars is no stranger to the world of television, and the Star Wars television universe is about to grow larger. So far, Star Wars television shows have been of the animated variety, including the very popular The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars Resistance. But with the launch of Disney+, a new streaming service that will play host to Disney content, comes a new live-action television series called The Mandalorian. Not much is known about the series beyond that it will star Pedro Pascal in the titular role and will take place somewhere between The Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. There will also be a “Rogue One” spinoff live-action show coming to the platform, and even less is known about this highly anticipated series.

Star Wars fans will have a lot to enjoy in the coming months and years. An end to the new trilogy and the opening of new attractions at Disneyland and Disney World are coming soon. And when Disney+ launches, new television shows will expand the “Star Wars” universe exponentially.
