DC Universe is breathing life into a fan-favorite and now we have our first real look at it. Check out the Young Justice: Outsiders trailer below.
The video is action packed and has cameos from all your most-loved heroes from the series. The third season will focus on the Team battling metahuman trafficking. After the events of season two where the Reach revealed the existence of the metagene, various nations and organizations have begun participating in such activities; it will also feature the superhero team Outsiders.
Young Justice originally aired on Cartoon Network for two seasons from 2010 to 2013, before being canceled due to low toy sales and Mattel pulling funding. However, after consistent high ratings on Netflix and persistent fan cry, Warner Bros. gave in and revived the series via their new DC Comics-based streaming service DC Universe.
Young Justice: Outsiders features quite a number of voice cast reprising their roles from the series along with some new voices. The cast includes Jesse McCartney as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Nolan North as Conner Kent/Superboy and Clark Kent/Superman, Stephanie Lemelin as Artemis Crock/Tigress, Jason Spisak as Forager, Zehra Fazal as Halo, Troy Baker as Prince Brion Markov/Geo-Force, Khary Payton as Kaldur’ahm/Aqualad, Eric Lopez as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, Jason Marsden as Bart Allen/Kid Flash, and Mae Whitman as Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Girl.
One thing we noticed about the cast list…Alyson Stoner as Barbara Gordon/Oracle. Yes, Oracle…not Batgirl. One wonders what we will see in terms of story here.
Young Justice: Outsiders will premiere on January 4th, 2019, on DC Universe. The first 13 episodes will air throughout January, with three episodes being released every Friday except January 25, where four episodes will be released. It is still unknown when the second set of 13 episodes will air.
