The first trailer for the DC Universe streaming service exclusive series Titans has arrived and it pulls no punches. Check it out below.

Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

The trailer reveals a much darker take on the young heroes than many diehard fans will not be used to. It also has that Marvel/Netflix feeling. Guess we will have to see how it goes. Wait till you what Robin has to say about Batman.

The series stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Robin, Anna Diop as Koriand’r/Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan/Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall/Hawk, and Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger/Dove. Making guest appearances as some other notable Titans are Curran Walters as Jason Todd, April Bowlby as Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman, Jake Michaels as Clifford Steele/Robotman, and Conor Leslie as Donna Troy/Wonder Girl.

Titans is of course based on the comic book series Teen Titans from DC Comics created by writer Bob Haney and artist Bruno Premiani in the pages of The Brave and the Bold #54 in July 1964. They weren’t actually referenced as the Teen Titans until The Brave and the Bold #60. They eventually got their own series with Teen Titans #1 by Haney and artist Nick Cardy.

Titans is scheduled to debut on the DC Universe streaming service in Fall of 2018.
