Bus Party to Hell or Party Bus to Hell (depending on who you talk to) comes from Gravitas Ventures and also stars Tara Reid and Sadie Katz. It was directed by Rolfe Kanefsky.

RONN!E: So, you star in a new movie with Sadie Katz and Tara Reid and Devanny Pinn, called Party Bus to Hell and you play Alan. So, tell us about Alan’s ride on the bus.

Richard Hochman: Well, basically Alan Armstrong, he’s a young, rich, entitled, spoiled douchebag, for lack of a better term, who has had everything handed to him with a silver spoon his entire life, so he only ever gets his thrills by being an adrenaline junkie and womanizing, so he’s the one who actually books the party bus to Burning Man. He has a large group on the bus and its fun and the whole thing. So that’s how he gets involved in all the mayhem. Little does he know that there’s a… not to give out any spoilers, but there’s a cult waiting for them.

RONN!E: Was this a role you auditioned for or was it brought to you?

Richard Hochman: Yeah, I did an audition for it. One of the other actors in the film, Michael Forsch, he was actually the casting director for the film, and I’ve known him since I was a kid. We were actors growing up together and he called me directly and said, “You should put yourself on face for this.” He got me the opportunity and fortunately, the producers and directors liked what I did.

RONN!E: Just recently you were on two TV series, and now you’ve gone to a movie. I’m always curious with actors–do you prefer TV series, compared to doing a movie, or…?

Richard Hochman: I grew up loving movies, that’s how I got into wanting to be an actor, it’s what I always wanted to do. And as I grew up the quality of television has matched–or surpassed–the model of a feature film in a lot of cases. It’s easy to answer “I’d love to do both” but I don’t think you can ever change how awesome the movie theater experience is, therefore my heart still is with the feature film model. You know, the isolated, in a dark theater with a bunch of strangers experience. Ultimately I always wanted to do feature films and movies.

RONN!E: As I mentioned before, in Party Bus to Hell, you star with Tara Reid, Sadie Katz, and Devanny Pinn, three just amazing actresses, so I was wondering what it was like working with them?

Richard Hochman: I didn’t have a ton of scenes on set with Tara and Devanny Pinn, but they were very sweet, very professional. I did have a lot of, without giving away any of the story, I had a lot of interaction with Sadie Katz and she is such a pro, and she’s a terrific actress. She’s done a ton of movies and I learned a lot from working with her. She makes a lot of jokes. She speaks her mind. She doesn’t have a big filter, so she kept things really loose on set.

RONN!E: I also wanted to know, you have a short film that you actually, produced, and starred in that’s in post-production right now, right?

Richard Hochman: Yeah, I co-produced it and I starred in it. The writer and director is Timothy Jay, and he’s an up-and-coming director. We came up with this concept of kind of a modern day Helen of Troy. It’s a story about a man coping with the loss of his wife and child, but he still has a twin brother (whom I also play) that is reckless and a troublemaker, and he still has to protect him. So we put it in this short film format. It’s a very touching film, in that it’s very close to the heart of the director. He went through a divorce recently and it’s very close to his real life in the filmmaking format. It should be hitting the festival circuits, hopefully in May or June and we’re just wrapping up the final touches right now.

RONN!E: I’ll make sure to look out for it. Is there anything else you’re working on that we should know about?

Richard Hochman: Right now I’m just writing, I’m auditioning, I’m promoting the films coming out right now, and hopefully I will have more work lined up going into the summer and fall.

RONN!E: Right on. One question I like to ask everyone and it seems to be popular on our site: Is there a particular role or character that you’ve really wanted to play?

Richard Hochman: I’ll try to pick one for you. As an actor, you want to try *everything*. I knocked the “horror movie” off my bucket list, but I was thinking about this recently and I grew up loving action movies. I grew up loving Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme. When I was a kid those were the movies that got me inspired to want to act, even though it’s a transition to a different type of actor, but I would love to be in an action movie. Running around with a gun and swinging on ropes and having explosions by me. That would be a dream role that I gotta do someday.

RONN!E: Like that 80s-style action flick? I grew up with the same ones and I know exactly what you’re talking about.

Richard Hochman: Yeah, like Commando, but something *good*.

RONN!E: Where the acting is just a little better than the Stallone days.

Richard Hochman: Yeah, I wouldn’t even have to be the main action star. The Rock can be the main action star, I just want to be the sidekick or something like that. I want to be in a film like that.

RONN!E: That sounds awesome. I want to thank you so much for speaking with me, I really appreciate it. I hope everyone enjoys Party Bus to Hell. I know I did. I wish you the best of luck. And good luck with Brother, your short film.

Richard Hochman: Thank you, I appreciate it.

Again, many thanks to Richard and make sure you check out Party Bus to Hell. You can get it now at Amazon.
