Fox Searchlight Pictures has released a new red-band trailer for the romantic fantasy film directed by Guillermo del Toro – The Shape of Water.

This new trailer shows us a lot of new footage and really gives you more of what the story is about. Like a lot of del Toro film, it looks very intense and story driven.

Synopsis: In 1962, a mute janitor and her colleague work in a government laboratory and eventually discover an amphibious man in a water tank. The janitor, out of loneliness, befriends the creature.

The Shape of Water was screened in the main competition section of the 74th Venice International Film Festival where it was awarded the Golden Lion for best film in the competition. It also won the C. Smithers Foundation Award, Future Film Festival Digital Award and the Soundtrack Stars Award.

The film stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Doug Jones, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Octavia Spencer. The film was written by del Toro and Vanessa Taylor.

The Shape of Water opens in movie theaters on December 8th, 2017.
