With Agnes levitating and grappling on to Tommy and Billy, Marvel gives us a new question with the latest episode of WandaVision. What’s Chaos Magic? Also, the penultimate episode gives our Wanda Maximoff her Comic name, “Scarlet Witch” The exact origin and extent of Wanda’s power in the series remain really complicated.
While Agatha confronts Wanda and tells here that she had no idea of what she’s capable of doing. It is clear that all the episodes of WandaVision from the “Special Date” in earlier episodes to “Evan Peters” joining as quicksilver was out of Wanda’s own grip. The “Hex” created by Wanda was the use of Chaos magic by her.
Wanda’s connection to the X-Men in the Comics?
WandaVision episode 8 gives us a hint that shows Wanda appears to be more powerful than Agatha herself. But, Wanda doesn’t seem to know much about herself. Wanda Maximoff is first seen using her HEX powers in X-men against angel. Wanda and Pietro are the members of Brotherhood of Evil Mutants led by Magneto in X-Men 4. Magneto’s stance against humans and Wanda’s empathy for humans make her switch sides and join the Avengers.
What’s Chaos Magic?
Wanda’s mutant ability to change the probability of an event with the wiggling of fingers can change the outcome of the event. When Wanda expands the Hex to save and change the impossibility of her created reality. Agatha realizes Wanda’s true potential to her power. Following comics, Wanda is mentored by Agatha and learns the incantations of magic that further enhances her powers and allows her to bend the reality at will. This power of changing the probability is referred to as Chaos Magic.
However, Wanda’s abilities have evolved in the comics compared to what is currently being referred to as Chaos Magic. Following the comic and Scarlet Witch series, there is more to Wanda’s power that came from her mother Natalya Maximoff.
