Not so lately, Ubisoft announced its Ubisoft Connect, promising players to connect and provide players universal gateway from all platforms for all games. Since Ubisoft made the switch from the previous Uplay to Connect, the platform promised cross-platform and cross-progression for games.
However, until then, Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Siege didn’t seem to appear on the list. But, this is the time for RSS fans to rejoice as the payers will be able to enjoy their progress right from where they left.
How does living in the future sounds? Well, you can now look into it and live it! Starting from scratch had always been difficult. While changing platforms once seem insurmountable, it’s no longer impossible. You can start right from where you had left. Reportedly, the director of Rainbow Six siege (Jean Baptiste Halle) briefed that making the cross-platform and progression compatibility is actively in the works. While the console gaming world is expanding, it would be amazing to have both platforms integrated.
Making the crossplay available will be largely dependent on the number of platform users. The crossplay option will be based on the shortest match-making time. For example, regions like Asia have more PS users than Xbox. So, the odds should meet both conditions, “shortest match-making time and the largest number of platform users.” For PC users, there are certain pros and cons necessary to be considered.
One of the major cons of PC games is using peripheral devices like mouse and keyboard. That gives advantages in a precise shooter over controller users. So, that will be a challenge for Siege console players as the game doesn’t have aim assist. Cross-progression isn’t much difficult compared to Crossplay, but the ecosystem for the platforms is still isolated. However, players can transfer the progress from the old console to next-gen consoles.
