Netflix has released a teaser trailer for their comic-adaptation series Jupiter’s Legacy. The teaser also revealed the 8-episode series would make its debut on May 7th, 2021. Check it out below.
Jupiter’s Legacy is, of course, based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely of the same name. The comic story follows “the world’s first superheroes,” who received their powers in the 1930s. In the present day, they’re the revered elder guard, but their superpowered children struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary feats.
The teaser doesn’t give us much in terms of footage. It is nice to see it finally happening after being announced more than 2 years ago. Netflix acquired the filming rights to Millar’s comic book imprint Millarworld in August 2017. They are also developing a series for American Jesus and films based on Empress, Huck and Reborn that will star Sandra Bullock.
The series stars Josh Duhamel as Sheldon Sampson, leader of the superhero team, The Utopian, Ben Daniels as Walter Sampson, Leslie Bibb as Grace Sampson, Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson, Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson, Mike Wade as Fitz Small, and Matt Lanter as George Hutchene.
