Endocrisis, an indie game created by developer Arturo Buschmann, now has a new free beta demo available on Steam. Get ready for some retro space shoot’em up challenges. Check out a trailer for the game below.
Games of this style tend to focus on shooting and evading. But in Endocrisis, it is different as your ship can absorb enemy shots to increase its power and thus resist enemy attacks. This changes the style of play, as you can adopt defensive or offensive stances depending on your style of play or situation.
This game becomes quite challenging by not having lives since the only way to keep our ship alive to resist impacts is with 100% of our power bar. This power is lost when receiving a hit or when using it when using our abilities such as absorbing or taking powerful shots.
Endocrisis Features
- Quickly press the fire button to launch powerful shocks
- Vertical shot rotating your cannons
- Simple to learn Just like a classic, just press play and go. focus on not being shocked
- Different levels Each level will have different mechanics, so get ready for something new every time
- A real challenge You can’t press Continue and eat all the enemy bullets, relying on your infinite “Continues”
The pressure is constant, especially when you do not have 100% power since any threat translates into having to start over. Fortunately, the levels are separated between bosses and stages, so if we lose against a boss, we can play directly against him without passing the entire stage.
Endocrisis will get a full release on Steam May 14th, 2021 and promises to have a series of improvements as its developer is attentive to player suggestions and a special version of Early Access will be available soon.
Head over to Steam now and check out the Endocrisis demo and tell us what you think.
