New Line Cinema has released the first trailer for the video game-to-film adaptation for Rampage. Check it out below. The trailer definitely sets you up for some feels.
The film is based on the 1980’s arcade video game of the same name from Midway Games. In the game, players take control of gigantic monsters trying to survive against onslaughts of military forces. Each round is completed when a particular city is completely reduced to rubble.
Synopsis: Primatologist Davis Okoye, a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, albino silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.
Rampage was directed by Brad Peyton. The story was developed by Ryan Engle who co-wrote the screenplay with Carlton Cuse, Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel.
The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Åkerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Rampage will hit theaters April 20th, 2018. Tell us what you think of the trailer.
