Marvel has unveiled a slew of new character posters for the highly-anticipated Black Panther film. Check them out in all their regal glory down below.
Each poster has a ‘His’ or ‘Her’ quote attached. For example, Danai Gurira says ‘Her Nation’s Honor’…makes sense since she is the head of the Dora Milaje. For those who don’t know, the Dora Milaje are a team of women who serve as special forces for the nation of Wakanda. One question I do have about these posters, what is going on with Andy Serkis’ face?
The Black Panther film is of course based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. He was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in the pages of Fantastic Four #52 in July of 1966. Black Panther will be the eighteenth film installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios’ Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
The film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. It’s directed by Ryan Coogler who co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole.
Black Panther is set to hit theaters February 16th, 2018.
