Get ready to revisit The Four Lands. Spike has released the first trailer for the sophomore season of The Shannara Chronicles. See all that the magic that it is below.
The series is, of course, an adaptation of the Shannara series of fantasy novels by Terry Brooks. The first season of the show adapted The book The Elfstones of Shannara. The second season will tell a new story that has not yet seen novelization. This idea made sense as the next book in the series, Wishsong of Shannara takes place 20 years later.
The new season of The Shannara Chronicles will pit the characters against a new evil known as The Crimson. One would assume that they will have something to do with the Crimson Elfstones from the novel series.
Synopsis: Season two takes place one year after the events of last season. The Four Lands are in chaos. The re-emergence of magic has the populace terrified, and an organization called The Crimson is hunting down magic users, using fear and intimidation to sow discord among the races. Wil, scarred by the loss of Amberle and his separation from Eretria, has turned his back on his magical destiny to become a healer. But when a mysterious woman named Mareth saves Wil from a Crimson attack, he is forced to rejoin the fight.
The series sees the return of Austin Butler as Wil, Ivana Baquero as Eretria, Manu Bennett as Allanon, Aaron Jakubenko as Ander and Marcus Vanco as Bandon. New cast for the second season includes Vanessa Morgan as Lyria, Malese Jow as Mareth, Gentry White as Garet, Caroline Chikezie as Queen Tamlin, and Desmond Chiam as General Riga.
The second season of The Shannara Chronicles is set to premiere on Spike October 11th, 2017. New episodes will air every Wednesday at 10 pm ET.
