Sony Pictures and Fathom Events are gearing up for the release of Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars. Check out the four featurettes they just released below.
The videos give us a closer look at the character of Rico played by Casper Van Dien and they show us how to use the Marauder suits. Plus, check out the video of Ed Neumeier, the writer of the film explain why he thinks it still has fandom 20 years later.
Synopsis: Johnny Rico has just been demoted and sent to a small satellite station on Mars whilst the Federation attacks the bugs’ home planet. While trying to train his new recruits on this remote quiet station, the bugs show up in a surprise attack but the Federation’s Fleet is too far away to help. It’s up to Rico and his Troopers to save the planet and uncover how the bugs made it so close to home.
Ed Neumeier creator of the original Starship Troopers film also wrote Traitor of Mars. The film series is, of course, a loose adaptation of Robert Heinlein’s military science fiction novel of the same name.
Some the best news about this film – Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer return as the voices of Johnny Rico and Dizzy Flores from the original film. Comedian DeRay Davis also lends his talents.
Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars will get a limited theater release August 21st, 2017. Tickets will be available through Fathom Events.
