CBS Films has released the first official trailer for American Assassin via Youtube, which not only has a rock solid cast, but also looks delightfully action-packed.
American Assassin is based on the 11th installment of the same name of Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series.
A CIA black ops recruit, Mitch Rapp, is devastated by the loss of his girlfriend to a terrorist attack. CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy assigns Cold War veteran Stan Hurley to train a grief-stricken but highly motivated Rapp how to thwart terrorist operations and hunt the perpetrators. Together they investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on military and civilian targets and discover a pattern in the violence that leads them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent to stop a mysterious operative intent on starting a world war in the Middle East.
American Assassin is directed by Michael Cuesta, with script by Stephen Schiff, Michael Finch, Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz. The film is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Nick Wechsler.
Starring in American Assassin are Dylan O’Brien, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, Shiva Negar and Taylor Kitsch.
The movie American Assassin will be released on September 15, 2017.
