RONN!E: Hi, Teagan!

Teagan Croft: Hello, Ronnie, how are you?

RONN!E: I’m good! How are you doing?

Teagan Croft: Good, thank you. Just another day at school.

RONN!E: *laughs* First off, thanks for speaking with me. Let’s talk about The Osiris Child. It’s a really fun movie which, personally, I think you gave a really great performance in, so I wanted to know how did this movie come about, or fall into your lap. Did you audition for it, or were you sought after…?

Teagan Croft: Yeah, I did. I auditioned for it. My manager told me about it and I auditioned for it, and it was a two-tiered audition process. I auditioned and then I went for a call-back, and I got it! That was exciting.

RONN!E: Right on. Did you see a script before you auditioned for it?

Teagan Croft: No. I auditioned for it and after I got it then I read the whole script.

RONN!E: In the movie, you play Indi Sommerville. What can you tell us about her?

Teagan Croft: Yes, she is a strong, independent young girl on this new planet with her dad and she’s not afraid to tell people what she thinks. She’s just a good character, honestly. I was really happy to play her. I was really lucky.

RONN!E: Right on. So was it hard playing this character? Did you have to do a lot of work to prepare for it?

Teagan Croft: Well, I often feel like characters are easier to play when they are less like you, so, at least for me personally. And since Indi was so like me I had to prepare a little bit more than I usually would. In the end, it was totally worth it and I feel like I did a good job.

RONN!E: Right on, so in this movie you star with Kellan Lutz, Daniel MacPherson, Rachel Griffiths, Luke Ford, and Isabel Lucas. What was it like working with such a really awesome cast?

Teagan Croft: It was so good. This was my first big thing and I’m so happy that I went in with such a big family. They were all so supportive and nice and they really vetted me as an actor. I wouldn’t have been able to give off half as well a performance if they weren’t there. I learned so much from them and I just want to thank them with all my heart.

RONN!E: Awwww. Right on, right on. Were there any pranksters on the set?

Teagan Croft: Oh, well one of the crew, he’s called George, and he was very funny and me and my mum enjoyed hanging with him when we had a bit of time off. He was very–he was a stuntman. And he was a nurse! He was trained as a nurse. So he was good to hang with when things got a bit intense.

RONN!E: Did you have a favorite scene in this movie when you filmed?

Teagan Croft: Well, one of my favorite scenes was when we were shooting the gun up on the hill. I don’t know if you saw the film, but at one point Indi and her dad go up to the shooting range and they shoot at signs and I’ve got a big gun. It didn’t shoot, properly, but it was really fun to hold the gun and to imagine the bullet. They added the big bullet in the visual effects after, and it was so realistic! I saw it being made at the time; I’d go in and they would show me how they put in the bullet. It was really fun.

RONN!E: Right on. As you said this is your first major film, otherwise you were on Seven Network’s “Home and Away”, so was it a big change for you, going from a television series to a major motion picture?

Teagan Croft: Well, actually, I did “Home and Away” after the film. So I did “Home and Away” after I got this, but the first thing that I did was a stage show of To Kill a Mockingbird. And that was a big change because on-stage is so exaggerated, but on film, the camera picks up everything that you do, so I had to really quickly adapt and it was difficult, but it was a great learning experience.

RONN!E: So did you find anything really difficult about filming this movie at any time?

Teagan Croft: One thing I found really difficult was the emotion that I had to show. A lot of the time there would be emotional things and it would be difficult for me to unlock that emotion within myself, and like, find it. But the cast and crew were so helpful with that as they gave me something to work off of and they gave me tips and they helped me find that emotion, and I’m so happy that they did because it made me a way better actor and I’m very grateful.

RONN!E: Are you hoping they make a sequel?

Teagan Croft: Well, I feel Like a sequel would unlock so many more parts of my character, so I don’t know! I feel like I would quite like a sequel but then again, there could be so much more that Shane and Brian (the writers) and everybody could do now, because there’s been such an awesome response and it’s been such a positive response.

RONN!E: I want to ask you real quick…because everyone’s going to want to know. You just got cast in a very major part in DC Comic’s based television series “Titans” as Raven. Can you tell us anything about that?

Teagan Croft: Yes, I would love to tell you stuff about that, but unfortunately it is all very secretive and under wraps.

RONN!E: That’s what I figured. Are you excited, though?

Teagan Croft: I am so excited! I read the comics and as soon as I got it I just ordered everything I possibly could about the New Teen Titans and I’m prepared, man.

RONN!E: Well, you’ve got a pretty big character in Raven. That’s pretty awesome. Congratulations on that, by the way.

Teagan Croft: Thank you very much.

RONN!E: You’re welcome. Is there any character out there that you’re hoping to play one day? Or a particular type of character?

Teagan Croft: That is a good question. It’s ironic, actually, because until now all I’ve ever really wanted to do is play is a superhero. I’ve always wanted to play a superhero and now I get to get one! Strong female, determined, powerful, you know, that sort of thing. I really just want to be a role model to girls out there. That’s been a big part of this for me. But right now off the top of my head, I can’t really think of a character that I want to play. Oh! Wait! Jane Austen characters!

RONN!E: Oh!

Teagan Croft: I’m a big fan of literature and I’m an avid reader, so like those characters…yeah.

RONN!E: So you’re a reader. What’s your favorite book?

Teagan Croft: Favorite book. *pause* Well, I’ve always been a big fan of the Harry Potter series and my favorite one of those was The Goblet of Fire. And another one of my favorite books–there’s this book called “And I Darken” (by Kiersten White) and it’s about this girl who was born into a royal family, but because she’s a girl she wasn’t given the title of “king” but she’s a strong, powerful fighter, and it’s about her adaptations and it’s really incredible. But at the moment I am reading the Lord of the Rings series and I’m enjoying it very much.

RONN!E: Oh right on, those are great books. Make sure you read on past the Lord of the Rings series, though, as there are some much better books he’s got out than those. Well, I want to thank you again, Teagan, for speaking with me, I really appreciate it. And I’ve actually seen The Osiris Child and just to let you know, you gave a really great performance and we’ll make sure to let people know about it. I’ll let you go and you have a good one, okay?

Teagan Croft: Thank you! You too!
