Their is a power struggle in the streets in the new Black Lightning trailer.

A new trailer for The CW‘s newest DC Comics-based series Black Lightning has been released. Check out the action below.

The new trailer has quite a bit of new footage. One interesting thing of not from the video is that it doesn’t seem that Black Lightning isn’t operating from the shadows as he walks the streets letting people shoot videos of him.

Synopsis: Jefferson Pierce has made his choice. He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend: Black Lightning.

The character originally debuted in the comic book Black Lightning #1 in April of 1977, and was created by writer Tony Isabella with artist Trevor Von Eeden. He was one of the first major African American superheroes to appear in DC Comics and the first to star in his own series.

The series will star Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce aka Black Lightning. The series also stars Christine Adams, China Anne McClain, and Nafessa Williams.

Black Lightning will begin airing on The CW starting January 16th, 2018. Ready to be electrified?
