Synopsis: Jefferson Pierce has made his choice. He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend: Black Lightning.

The character originally debuted in the comic book Black Lightning #1 in April of 1977, and was created by writer Tony Isabella with artist Trevor Von Eeden. He was one of the first major African American superheroes to appear in DC Comics and the first to star in his own series.

The series will star Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce aka Black Lightning. The series also stars Christine Adams, China Anne McClain, and Nafessa Williams.
