We have got a lot of news recently about the show but thankfully today The CW has announced a premiere date for Black Lightning.

Everyone will be happy to know that we have less than two months until the show debuts on January 16th, 2018. It will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT following a new episode of The Flash. Happy New Year!

Synopsis: Jefferson Pierce has made his choice. He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend: Black Lightning.

The character originally debuted in the comic book Black Lightning #1 in April of 1977, and was created by writer Tony Isabella with artist Trevor Von Eeden. He was one of the first major African American superheroes to appear in DC Comics and the first to star in his own series.

The series will star Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce aka Black Lightning. The series also stars Christine Adams, China Anne McClain, and Nafessa Williams.
