A new trailer for Batman: Gotham by Gaslight brings you a ton of explosive action.

Via IGN, DC Entertainment has released a new trailer for the comic book to film adaptation – Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. Watch all the action as Batman faces off against Jack the Ripper below.

One of the things I am loving about DC Entertainment right now is to take a chance and adapt some of their Elseworlds tales into film. Or to take a chance on some stories that venture outside the normal from what we know of some our favorite superheroes. There is definitely a huge number of great they could adapt.

Synopsis: In an age of mystery and superstition, how would the people of Gotham react to a weird creature of the night, a bat-garbed vigilante feared by the guilty and the innocent alike? The very first Elseworlds tale reimagines the Dark Knight detective in Victorian times and pits him against the infamous murderer Jack the Ripper.

Gotham by Gaslight was a DC Comics one-shot by Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola. A sequel was made in 1991 titled Master of the Future which was also written by Augustyn, with art by Eduardo Barreto. Gotham by Gaslight is considered to be the first Elseworlds story, where DC Comics heroes get taken from their usual setting and put into alternate timelines or realities.

The film has an awesome voice cast that includes Jennifer Carpenter as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Bruce Greenwood as Batman aka Bruce Wayne, Grey DeLisle as Jason Todd, John DiMaggio as Harvey Bullock and Anthony Stewart Head as Alfred.

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight is expected sometime is 2018 on Blu-Ray and Digital HD. When we get a set date we will let you know.
