The first official teaser for Syfy‘s new Superman prequel series Krypton. The trailer debuted at SDCC and you can check it out below.

The series is set approximately 200 years before the time period of the Man of Steel film and follows Seg-El. Whether it is part of the DC Extended Universe has not yet been confirmed.

Synopsis: Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. 


The series stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, and Aaron Pierre. The show was developed by David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler.

Syfy has Krypton set to debut sometime in 2018. Will you be watching?
