Grecian prostitutes and blood guzzling birds, pickle-sized vampires who wear their hearts on their sleeves, sexy immortals that fear human greed and memories that become tattoos; Stamps, Vamps & Tramps crosses genres to deliver bone-chilling stories that will keep you up all night.
From Evil Girlfriend Media (whom I got to see at Crypticon 2014), the same publishing company that brought us Witches, Stitches & Bitches, comes another “Three Little Words Anthology”: Stamps, Vamps & Tramps. Written by a total of 16 very talented authors and edited by Shannon Robinson, Stamps, Vamps & Tramps touches on vampiric-type things that you don’t hear of or see very often.
Two of my favorite stories featured (though I promise I won’t give too much away), are Easy Mark (written by the super talented Rachel Caine) and Stabilization (written by the super amazing Daniels Parseliti). Easy Mark tells a delightfully twisted yet somehow bittersweet tale of a young homeless girl that gets taken in by an old man with a strange tattoo and a very peculiar secret.
Admittedly, the length of these short stories bothered me a bit, but only because each one was so incredibly captivating that I would have loved to see where else each story could go. All in all, Stamps, Vamps & Tramps is an excellent read and Evil Girlfriend Media needs to come out with many many many more!
Sixteen talented authors take you on a journey where stamps aren’t always inked, tramps aren’t always hookers, and vampires aren’t always at the top of the food chain. From the colonnade of ancient Greece to a small town amusement park, from the battlefield to the urban center, this anthology will suck you in to the very end.
